Leisure World closure/Summer training - update 1st July
Leisure World closes on 6th July for refurbishment. Extra water time has been booked at the Garrison pool and training for
ALL squads has been revised. This letter from the Chairman gives general information about the changes and the detailed
schedules for July appear below. Training will now continue through August; future months' schedules will follow. Previous

Garrison Pool now open 2 July
The Garrison pool will now be open on Thursday 2nd July as usual.
Garrison Pool - roadworks finished
Berechurch Road has now re-opened and the Garrison pool can be accessed from all directions.
East Region Championships 13th/14th June
Colchester Swimming Club are again celebrating after another hugely successful weekend of swimming at the East Region
Bagcats Championships. The Colchester Club finished 10th in the medals table out of 31 clubs, a huge achievement for all the
competitors. Two young 10yr olds finished in the top 3 in the overall Top Girl/Boy awards. Philippa Davenall was placed a
superb 2nd in the Girls' competition and Cameron Simpson was placed a tremendous 3rd in the Boys'. more...
Essex Mini League 3
Young swimmers from Colchester Swimming Club, sponsored by Griffin Chapman, celebrated a recent victory in an exciting
Mini League Gala, held at Leisure World on the 13th June 2009. There were many high placings throughout the evening
earning high numbers of points carrying the team to victory. Many Personal Best times (PB) were beaten and there was a
rousing atmosphere with a fantastic team spirit in the Colchester camp. more...
Young timekeepers
Seven Colchester Swimming Club members took part in the first Young Officials timekeeper's course, run by the ASA Youth
Sport Trust at the UEA Norwich. All the swimmers aged 14-15yrs passed the course and became the first successful group at
their club and in the area to have qualified as British Swimming timekeepers. more...
Water Polo vs Cambridge
Colchester took to the water against National league side Cambridge in the knowledge that a vast improvement would be
needed if they were to remain competitive in this league. Colchester welcomed back the newly married Simon Lecomber into
the side, his presence was immediately noted as quick passing found him in space twice early on more...
East Region Championships 6th/7th June
Colchester Swimming Club is celebrating after a wonderful weekend of swimming at the East Region Championships in
Norwich on the 6/7th June. This competition is for youngsters up to the age of 14 years and it is a huge achievement to reach
this level of competition. Joint Chief Coaches Michelle Young and Ian Johnson are delighted with the swimmers'
performances, congratulating them on their hard work, which has paid off with amazing results. more...
